Write to us, and we will write back.
Brevity is welcome; depth is what we are listening for. A partner replies, in person, to every founder whose attention sounds like the work — usually within a working week.
Channels
Founders
founders@a10.vcRead by a partner. Replies within a working week — particularly to founders whose first email reads like a problem they have been chewing on for years.
Limited partners
lp@a10.vcWe are not currently raising. Notes from existing and prospective LPs reach the General Partner directly.
Press
press@a10.vcWe comment infrequently and almost never on individual companies. Forwarded to our outside counsel for record.
Operations
ops@a10.vcInvoicing, vendors, conflicts checks, and any administrative matter.
For founders
How to reach us, briefly.
Four guidelines. Following them does not improve your odds in any unfair way; it only makes a productive first conversation easier for both of us.
- I.
Write directly.
We do not accept warm-introduction-only pitches. The most direct path is a single email from the founder, addressed to a partner by name.
- II.
Lead with the problem.
Tell us, in two paragraphs, what problem you are working on, why you believe you are unusually equipped to work on it — your cognition, your history, the unreasonable amount of time you have already spent inside it — and what you have built so far.
- III.
Skip the deck.
We will ask for a deck if we want one. A README, a paper, a working demo, or a long-form note are all preferred.
- IV.
Expect a real reply.
We respond personally, including to passes. If a partner cannot help, they will tell you why and, where possible, suggest someone who can.
Offices
We do not, in general, take meetings without prior correspondence. Drop-ins are politely but firmly redirected to email — we are, as a group, more useful by writing than by speaking.
